Gran. Products Pro

The profit in every product, not just the revenue.

Best sellers are not always best earners. Gran Products gives every product a P&L, after its own cost and its share of shipping, payment fees, discounts and RTO, and shows where the profit in your catalogue really comes from.

Part of Gran Pro. Every account starts with 7 days of Pro, and you can explore it on the sample brand at any time.

Revenue rankings hide the products that lose money

A product can sit at the top of the sales report and still lose money on every order once discounts, heavy shipping and cash-on-delivery returns are counted. Another can sell half as much and carry the month’s profit.

You only see the difference when every order’s costs are shared across the products in it, which a spreadsheet makes painful and a sales report never does.

What Gran Products shows you

Your costs, once

Products and costs lists every variant from your Shopify catalogue, ranked by revenue. Download one sheet, fill in the cost as sold, groups and short names, and upload it back. Packs take their single’s cost times the units; bundles add up their contents.

A P&L for every product

Units, net sales, product cost, discounts, and each product’s share of shipping, payment fees and RTO, down to contribution and contribution per unit.

Profit after ads, per product

Map each campaign, Meta ad set or ad, Google ad group or Performance Max asset group to what it sells. Shopping and Performance Max map themselves from the product feed, and Gran suggests the rest from names and landing pages.

Revenue share against profit share

Each product’s share of revenue next to its share of contribution. The gap is where pricing, bundling or ad budget should move.

Products that lose money, flagged

Any product with enough volume and a negative contribution is called out on Home with what it costs you each week.

What sells together

The pairs that appear in the same order most often, and how much more those orders are worth. The starting point for bundles and post-purchase offers.

The first product that brings customers back

Which first purchase leads to the most second orders. Often a better choice for acquisition ads than the best seller.

The terms, defined

Contribution margin (CM1, CM2, CM3)
Contribution margin is the revenue left from a sale after the variable costs of making and delivering it.
Product profitability
Product profitability is the contribution each product earns after its own cost and its share of discounts, shipping, payment fees, returns and RTO.
Cost as sold
Cost as sold is what one variant costs you as it leaves the warehouse: every unit inside it plus its packaging, excluding GST you can claim back.
Ad spend allocation
Ad spend allocation assigns each rupee of ad spend to the product it sold, so every product can be judged on profit after ads, not before.
Attach rate
Attach rate is the share of orders containing one product that also contain a second, specific product.
Gross margin
Gross margin is the share of the selling price left after the direct cost of the product.
Markup
Markup is the amount added to the cost of a product to set its price, expressed as a percentage of cost.

Questions

How are shipping and fees split across products?

By each line’s share of the order’s value. A ₹1,500 line in a ₹2,000 order carries three quarters of that order’s shipping, fees and RTO cost.

Do I need product costs in Shopify?

No. Gran uses Shopify’s cost per item where you keep one, and Products and costs lets you add or override costs for every variant with one sheet. Anything still without a cost uses the percentage in Assumptions and is marked as estimated.

What if a campaign sells several products?

Map it to a group, split it by percentage, or map its ad sets and ads one by one. The most specific mapping wins, and every mapping applies to past spend too. Renaming a campaign keeps its mapping.

Does it work with variants?

Yes. Products are grouped by product, with variant detail where Shopify records it.
