Gran is in beta. Every number is checked against your store, and your notes shape what we build next.

Gran. Customers Pro

Who comes back, when, and what to send them.

Repeat customers are the cheapest revenue you will ever earn, and most brands cannot name them. Gran Customers sorts every customer into seven segments, tells you the move for each, and shows exactly when people come back for a second order.

Part of Gran Pro. Every account starts with 7 days of Pro, and you can explore it on the sample brand at any time.

Acquisition gets the budget, retention gets the leftovers

Paid acquisition is easy to measure and easy to spend on. Retention is spread across email, WhatsApp, packaging and support, so it rarely has a number on it, and the customers who are about to drift away get the same newsletter as everyone else.

Knowing who is due a second order this week, and when your customers usually come back, turns retention from a hope into a schedule.

What Gran Customers shows you

Seven segments with the move to make

Champions, repeat buyers, new this month, due a second order, at risk, one and done, and lapsed. Each comes with its size, its revenue and the action that usually works for it.

Exports for every channel

Download any segment as a CSV for Klaviyo, WhatsApp, Meta custom audiences or Google Customer Match. Customer details are hashed in Gran; exports come from your own Shopify data.

Repeat timing

The days between first and second orders, as a distribution. Send the reminder just before most people reorder, not on a fixed calendar.

Monthly cohorts

Each month’s new customers and how many came back in the months after, so you can see whether retention is improving or the brand is renting customers.

The first product that brings customers back

Which first purchase produces the most second orders, so acquisition can lead with it.

The numbers

  • Customers
  • Repeat rate
  • 90-day repeat
  • Median days to second order

Where the data comes from

Read-only connections. Gran never changes anything in your accounts.

The terms, defined

Repeat purchase rate
Repeat purchase rate is the share of customers who place a second order within a set period, usually 12 months.
Cohort analysis
Cohort analysis groups customers by when they were acquired and tracks how each group behaves over time.
LTV (customer lifetime value)
LTV is the total value a customer generates over their relationship with a business, best measured in contribution rather than revenue.
Customer segmentation
Customer segmentation is grouping customers by behaviour, such as how recently and how often they bought, so each group gets the message most likely to work.
RFM analysis
RFM analysis scores customers on recency, frequency and monetary value: how recently they bought, how often, and how much they spent.
Win-back campaign
A win-back campaign is a sequence of messages aimed at customers who have stopped buying, designed to bring them back for another order.

Questions

How does Gran identify a customer?

By the customer record in Shopify, stored as a one-way hash. Gran does not need names to build segments; exports come from Shopify when you ask for them.

How often are segments updated?

Once a day, or straight away when you press refresh.

Can I use these segments in Klaviyo or Meta?

Yes. Export a segment as a CSV and import it as a list or custom audience.
