High attach rates point to natural bundles and post-purchase offers. Low attach rates on products that should go together point to a merchandising gap on the product page or in the cart.
Look at attach rate together with order value: a bundle that lifts attach rate and keeps margin intact is one of the cheapest ways to raise AOV.
Formula
Attach rate of B to A = Orders with A and B ÷ Orders with A
Example
420 of 1,500 orders with a serum also include a moisturiser: an attach rate of 28%.
Compare a discount, a price increase, bundles, free shipping and COD-to-prepaid on what each does to contribution, before you run it.
